About VitaWick

What is the VitaWick™ urine collection system?

The VitaWick™ urine collection system uses steady negative pressure to move liquid through compatible external collection supplies and into a collection canister. It is designed for bedside and home use when operated according to the supplied instructions.

Where does the collected liquid go?

Liquid travels through the connected tubing and is collected in the removable canister. The liquid does not pass through the pump body during normal operation.

Can the system be used with external catheters for men and women?

The collection system is designed to work with compatible external catheters for men or women. External catheters may be sold separately, so select the appropriate compatible model for the intended user.

What is the capacity of the collection canister?

The included collection canister holds up to 2,000 mL. Empty it regularly and before liquid reaches the maximum fill line shown on the canister.

Getting Started

What should I do before the first use?

Review the product instructions, confirm that the canister lid and tubing are firmly connected, place the system upright on a stable surface, and test suction with clean water before connecting an external catheter.

Are external catheters included with the system?

Included accessories vary by model and bundle. Check the product page and package contents carefully. Unless specifically stated, external catheters are sold separately.

Where should I place the system?

Place the system upright on a flat, stable surface near the user. Keep the tubing free from sharp bends, pinching, or positions that may block flow.

How can I test the suction before use?

Connect the tubing and place the collection end into a small cup of clean water. Turn on the system and check that water moves steadily into the canister. Do not let the tubing opening press against the bottom of the cup.

Using the System

How do the four timer modes work?

The system provides four programmed operating cycles: Mode I runs for 3 minutes and pauses for 3 minutes; Mode II runs for 3 minutes and pauses for 5 minutes; Mode III runs for 3 minutes and pauses for 15 minutes; Mode IV runs for 3 minutes and pauses for 30 minutes.

Is the system suitable for nighttime use?

The pump is designed for low-noise bedside operation. Place it on a stable surface and arrange the tubing carefully to reduce unnecessary movement or vibration during use.

Why is the suction weak or inconsistent?

Check that the canister lid is fully seated, all tubing connections are secure, the tubing is not bent or blocked, and the collection end is positioned correctly. Perform the clean-water suction test to help identify whether the issue is related to the pump, tubing, canister, or external catheter placement.

What should I do if liquid does not reach the canister?

Turn off the system and inspect the full tubing path. Reconnect any loose fittings, remove bends or compression, verify that the canister lid is sealed, and repeat the water test before resuming use.

Care & Maintenance

How should I clean the canister and tubing?

Disconnect the system from power before cleaning. Clean the removable canister, lid, and reusable tubing according to the instructions supplied with your model. Allow all cleaned parts to dry fully before reconnecting them.

Can the pump be immersed in water?

No. Keep the pump and electrical components dry. Wipe the exterior only as directed in the product instructions and never allow liquid to enter the pump body.

When should tubing or the canister be replaced?

Replace parts if they are cracked, damaged, no longer seal correctly, or show wear that affects performance. Follow any replacement schedule stated in the instructions for your specific model.

Can disposable external catheters be washed and reused?

VitaWick™ disposable external catheters are intended for single use unless the packaging for a specific product clearly states otherwise. Follow the replacement and disposal instructions printed on the package.

Orders & Support

How do I choose compatible replacement supplies?

Check the connector style and the compatibility information on the product page. When contacting support, provide the system model, the accessory name, and a photo of the connector when possible.

Where can I find my order information?

Your order number is usually available in your order confirmation email and customer account. Keep the order number available when requesting product or shipping support.

What information should I provide when contacting support?

Provide your order number, product model, a clear description of the issue, and photos or a short video when relevant. This helps the support team review the setup and identify the correct next step.
